競賽背景 / Competition background

一個美麗的主意或令人回味的圖像可能比一個物體，一棟建筑物甚至整個城市更能激發我們的想象力。然而，正是物質性構成了建筑的強大力量，它具有將實體建筑轉變為真正超驗體驗的能力。

讓我們考慮一下如何改善我們已經擁有的建筑物，而不是像通常那樣將它們夷為平地從頭開始建造新建筑物。當涉及到最近的建筑物時，盡管不受地標地位的保護，但在如何改造方面有很多自由。

James R. Thompson Center是芝加哥最具標志性的建筑之一。伊利諾伊州政府決定將其出售用于新開發項目，使這座擁有35年歷史的20世紀晚期建筑瑰寶處于極大的危險之中。

競賽內容 / Competition content

本次競賽分為兩個階段，第一階段為資格預審，參賽團隊提交參賽申請和設計作品集，評委將從中選擇進入第二階段的設計團隊。第二階段參賽團隊會分配在31個設計場地中，進行概念設計提案。

初步研討會，入選參賽者收到設計范圍和設計依據：2021年1月21日；

第二階段提案設計：2021年1月21日—3月26日

技術評審：2021年3月29日—4月9日；

評委評審：2021年4月12日—4月30日。

獎項設置 / AWARDS

第二階段入選的每個參賽團隊將獲得100萬盧布（約合人民幣86,737元）的獎勵，同時將參與競賽概念深化的后續工作。
